Credit programs

An Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree provides the freshman and sophomore years of a college degree. MCC offers an AA in Liberal Arts and an AS in Nursing, Human Services, and Electronic and Computer Engineering Technology (ECET). These are 2-year programs. The student may then transfer to a 4-year program or institution.

MCC will soon be offering on-site one 4-year baccalaureate degree in Applied Business and Information Technology (ABIT).

Other 4-year baccalaureate and graduate degrees can be completed on Maui through the University of Hawai'i Center at Maui Community College. Courses may be taught on the MCC campus, through the Hawai'i Interactive Television System (HITS), or through the Internet.

Carrer and Technical programs offer training and credentials to those who wish to enter the job market with higher skills. Depending upon the program or certificate, these typically may take from months to 2 years to complete.

Special Curricula enhance and support the programs.

Non-credit programs

Maui Community College's non-credit program is administered by the Office of Continuing Education and Training (OCET). Each year the program enrolls more than 12,000 students in a variety of fun, enriching, and skill-building courses.

Students do not earn degrees or college credits; however, they can earn certificates of completion. There is no financial aid for these courses. However, in some cases, employers or agencies have educational reimbursement programs for select courses. Ask your employer.
