Getting An Education in West Maui Just Got a Little Easier

Welcome to Maui Community College’s Lahaina Education Center! We make it easy for West Maui residents to earn college credit, gain valuable workplace skills, and earn four-year and master’s degrees through the University of Hawaii Center—all without the long commute from Lahaina to Kahalui. In addition, we offer numerous youth programs including college level courses for high school students, after school programs, and summer enrichment activities for youth ages 11 and up.

Looking to have fun, learn new skills, and take charge of your future? Check out our current course schedules.

MCC Lahaina is supported with funds from the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment & Training Administration, which is administered by the Rural Development Project. We gratefully acknowledge Senator Inouye who is responsible for securing these funds for Hawaii.

West Maui Residents Praise MCC Lahaina

"MCC’s ability to utilize their resources and offer accredited college level courses in Lahaina will allow many west Maui residents to achieve their dreams of earning a degree." —Joseph Pluta, President, West Maui Taxpayers Association and West Maui Improvement Foundation Inc.

How fantastic to have MCC here in Lahaina! The drive to Kahalui made it impossible for my staff or me to take any courses but now that it’s here in Lahaina, it’s so easy to sign up and take courses! —Lisa Gibson, Co-Owner, Warren & Annabelle’s

"Having college classes on the West side will allow residents to work and take classes at the same time.  It is such a GREAT thing!”—Jerry Kunitomo, Owner, BJ’s Chicago Pizza

“With the current labor market here on Maui, it is critical to provide training and development opportunities for existing employees. We feel the expansion of the community college programs to West Maui is an exciting and much needed move. We appreciate both the expansion and the effort to involve the community in the program structure and offerings.”—Michael Moore, Co-Owner, Old Lahaina Luau

“We are very fortunate to have MCC Lahaina in West Maui become a reality. This facility gives students and adults on this side of the island the accessibility to educational opportunities not available previously.”—Andrew Kutsunai, Chair of the Lahainaluna Foundation Scholarship Committee and retired Lahainaluna High School teacher

“I believe that access to great education is one of the most important factors in building a strong community. As a resident of West Maui and a business owner, I hope that we can work together to continue building, supporting & developing a world class learning center for those who live here."—Jurg Munch, Proprietor, David Paul's Lahaina Grill
