Literary Resources in Europe

Starting in December 2006, No Man's Land will feature first-ever English translations of fiction and poetry by some of the finest young writers working in German today. The magazine itself will be the point of departure for an online literary community of writers, translators and readers. As part of this community, we hope to offer one of the most comprehensive link lists in the area of literary translation, expatriate literary life and German-English cultural dialogue. The no man's land project marks the 10th anniversary of the Berlin literary "laboratory" and magazine lauter niemand.
The Stinging Fly was established in late 1997. Our main objective at that time was to work towards bringing out a well-designed publication that would provide a forum for the very best of new Irish and international writing. We were particularly concerned to provide an outlet for short story writers. Thus far we have published new work by a number of highly acclaimed Irish writers: people like Philip Casey, Tony Curtis, Emma Donoghue, Eamon Grennan, Kerry Hardie, Paula Meehan, Mary O'Donnell, Bernard O'Donoghue, Dennis O'Driscoll, Gabriel Rosenstock, and Peter Sirr. We remain convinced, however, that The Stinging Fly’s lasting contribution will be the opportunities it continues to give to new writers.

VespertinePress offers something entirely different to the literary world: a place where Asian writers can express without explanation. We showcase established and emerging Asian writers from the US and around the globe. We encourage as well as enlighten. We have no hidden agenda. We are simply here to fill a need. We expect the best work from our artists, and we do not exclude any writer from submitting to us regardless of ethnicity. How do we balance such an effort? We anticipate, we review, and we publish amazing stories.  Our first 2005 edition is scheduled for release in late October 2004.
