Presentations on nanophysics, anti-matter, free electron lasers and astrobiology are part of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa annual Physics and Astronomy Open House on Saturday, November 19, 8:30 a.m.–noon. The event also features physics demonstrations and hands-on activities.

Physics and astronomy faculty and students will describe fascinating aspects of their research, such as the Antarctic Impulsive Transient Antenna project, the Large Hadron Collider and efforts to develop small neutrino detectors.

A welcome and overview will take place in the Hawaiʻi Institute of Geophysics auditorium at 8:30 a.m., with sites open 9–11 a.m. for group visits and 11 a.m.–noon for informal visits.

The event is open to the public. For more information, contact Michael Jones at (808) 956-2932.
