I am excited about the future of education in Kona and for the Palamanui campus. However, I would like to see more greenery at the new site. The sketch does not look like there is much area to comfortably hang-out outside. Close by at the Veteran’s Cemetery, there is a native plant reforestation project underway (spearheaded by a UH-HCC lecturer). It would be great to see more plants and expanded outdoor areas to integrate with that project. Also, I have heard that the library will not have a bathroom or a drinking fountain. That just doesn’t seem like a wise plan. I hope these issues are addressed.

I‘m sure it will all work out if we all work together.

…at least the parking is better placed than UHWO; at the new campus I’ll need to get a handi placard in order to park close enough to not need some further treatment of ankle broken on bad walkway at temporary campus… UHWO is (an attempt at a positive statement) SKATEBOARDER’S PARADISE; the challenge will only be ‘fixt’ by a handicapped parking lot placed within the legal distance of the classrooms building….
