The University of Hawaiʻi announced on August 12 that UH Mānoa Athletics Director Jim Donovan would return to full duty status on August 13 but in a new position reporting directly to UH Mānoa Chancellor Tom Apple.

Donovan and Stan Sheriff Center Manager Rich Sheriff were placed on administrative leave in July as an independent investigation began following the cancellation announcement of a planned Stevie Wonder concert at the Stan Sheriff Center.

I’ve known Donovan for a good 10 years as a student at UH Manoa. I am sure the loss money can be returned through some form of fund raising. I believe this can be cleaned up. We should focus on the many lives that Donovan touched at UH Manoa–I being one of them. God Bless my dear friend, young people need to see your warm appearance at the Athletic Department. That’s much more important to me than all the gold in the world.
