A documentary entitled Envisioning a World Without Cancer will air on Tuesday, January 29, at 8 p.m. on KITV 4. The 30-minute program will feature the University of Hawaiʻi’s new cancer research facility and provide an opportunity for viewers to hear from some of the center’s faculty who are leading the fight against cancer.

“This cancer center is really the anchor for a lot of work that’s going to get done over the next few decades, which is going to transform lives, not to mention save them,” said UH President M.R.C. Greenwood in her interview for the documentary.

The show also includes stories of hope from local cancer survivors and their courageous battle against the deadly disease right here in Hawaiʻi.

The UH Cancer Center will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, February 23, with a blessing ceremony at 10 a.m. and a science fair from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. that will showcase the center’s research and outreach programs. Both events are open to the public.
