The Hanauna Mele Concert Series spearheaded by Windward Community College ʻukulele instructor Kamuela Kimokeo, and the Spring Piano Concert led by Windward CC piano instructor So Jin Kimura will feature University of Hawaiʻi student musical talent and special guests. The concerts will be held at the Palikū Theatre and all performances are free and open to the public.

Hanauna Mele Concert Series

The Hanauna Mele Concert Series will be on Monday, April 29, 6:30 p.m. The concert showcases students from the ʻukulele and slack key classes at Windward CC, UH West Oʻahu and UH Mānoa, as well as performances from the Windward choir and hula classes. Special guests include Kaʻala Carmack (new Windward CC music instructor), Nalani Naluai, Hiʻikua, Kamuela Kimokeo and Dennis Kamakahi

Spring Piano Concert

Under the direction of Kimura, the Spring Piano Concert will be on Friday, May 3, 7 p.m. The concert will feature the barbershop quartet and HI Q (led by Windward CC piano student student Bryce-William Irvine). Students will share what they’ve learned over the past four months in music selections from the past 50 years and a few classical favorites.

No reservations or tickets are necessary. Ample parking is available.
