The University of Hawaiʻi Foundation has received two prestigious national awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education and the International Association of Business Communicators for the successful implementation of a comprehensive rebranding initiative.

The rebranding initiative was spearheaded by a committee comprised of community volunteers and UH Foundation board of trustees and staff. Olomana Loomis, LLC conducted a comprehensive assessment of the foundation’s brand that included research using focus groups, qualitative and quantitative surveys of all constituent groups. The foundation then worked with renowned designer Kurt Osaki of Osaki Creative Group to design the new logo, and the UH Foundation team incorporated the new brand into all communication vehicles as well as internally with the staff who ultimately deliver the brand.

“This highlights the partnership between the foundation and UH and makes the logo even more relevant,” said Janet Bullard, vice president for marketing and communications—alumni and donor relations. “It also re-energizes the brand and provides a solid platform from which the foundation, working in concert with the university, can launch new initiatives for the benefit of UH and for our community in general. We have clear brand values that we deliver every day and a brand that we can be proud of. It repositions us for the future.”
