Kapiʻolani Community College

Kapiʻolani Community College has been selected as one of the ten winning “mentee” colleges in the American Association of Community Colleges’ (AACC) MentorLinks: Advancing Technological Education program, which is part of a national initiative supported by the National Science Foundation. The MentorLinks grant is for the period of October 1, 2014 through October 31, 2016, in the amount of $20,000.

“I am very pleased and honored that the AACC review panel selected Kapiʻolani CC to work on this important program that is designed to benefit AACC members,” said Chancellor Leon Richards. “In today’s rapidly changing technology field, it is critical that we support technician education and mentorships.”

Team building, effective partnerships and good communication are among the key factors that will make this program successful. Kapiʻolani CC project staff will attend the MentorLinks project planning meeting and Advancing Technological Education principle investigators’s conference in Washington, D.C., October 21–24, 2014.
