Hawaiʻi Community College nursing student

Hawaiʻi Community College is offering a new course this fall in West Hawaiʻi that prepares students to become certified nurse’s aides (CNA) in just two months.

Students who successfully complete the course will be ready to take the certification test that will allow them to become a CNA.

“With tuition for this course costing about $570, this is an affordable way to prepare for a job as a CNA and launch your career in the healthcare field,” said May Kealoha, Hawaiʻi CC nursing and allied health director.

The demand for certified nurse’s aides in Hawaiʻi is strong with 22 percent projected job growth between 2010 and 2020.
