The Leeward Theatre at Leeward Community College presents the 2015 PlayBuilders’ Festival to be held on three consecutive Friday evenings between January 9 and January 23.
The festivities will include new, original works written by oustanding local playwrights and read by some of Hawaiʻi’s best actors. Directors from major theatre companies across the island have volunteered their time and talent to ensure that the quality of each presentation will be outstanding.
This year’s selected playwrights are Kemuel DeMoville, Joseph O’Brian, Mark Tjarks, David P. Penhallow and youth from Le Jardin Academy.
Event information
This years’ festival will be held on Friday January 9, 16 and 23, 8–10 p.m. at the Leeward Community College Lab Theatre. There will be a special Backstage Meet the Playwrights Ice Cream Social on January 9, 7–8 p.m. for playwrights, directors, actors and those who purchase tickets for all three evenings.
