Kaiulani Kamau

Two University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo students each received a UH Hilo Semester at Sea scholarship in the amount of $14,370 to participate in the Semester at Sea program this semester.

Kaiulani Kamau, a kinesiology and exercise sciences major, and Raelyn Eckret, a geology major, are currently on a 112-day educational visit to 15 cities in 12 countries on a voyage around the world. Kamau is featured in a video produced by Semester at Sea, where students are asked to share their thoughts about the voyage (above).

The UH Hilo Semester At Sea Scholarship Program is a cooperative partnership between UH Hilo and the Institute for Shipboard Education. The program’s aim is to provide a unique learning experience and broaden a student’s global perspective to create leaders for the future.
