Justin Chon

The University of Hawaiʻi Academy for Creative Media and the University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu will host a Creative Media Masters Series presentation featuring actor and director Justin Chon on April 30, 12:30–1:20 p.m. at the UH West Oʻahu Library ʻUluʻulu exhibition space. The presentation is free and open to students, faculty and the public.

Chon will discuss his career and creative influences, which will be followed by a question and answer session with UH West Oʻahu students. Chon is best known from 21 and Over, The Twilight Saga and as a constant presence on YouTube, often with his buddy Kev Jumba.

A southern California native, Chon’s career began in 2005 when he appeared in the acclaimed TV series Jack and Bobby, then as Peter Wu in the Disney Channel film Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior and as Tony Lee in the Nickelodeon sitcom Just Jordan. Chon has also starred, produced and directed two films in HawaiʻiHang Loose and Man Up. He recently starred in Revenge of the Green Dragons and his latest film, Seoul Searching, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.

The masters series is part of UH West Oʻahu’s creative media concentration and it aims to increase student understanding of the art and business of content creation.
