U H Manoa banners

When fall semester started this year, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa students noticed something different on campus. Eighty-five new vibrant banners featuring photos and testimonials from students, alumni and staff were posted along Campus Center, the Warrior Recreation Center, Student Housing area, Correa Road, Lower Campus Road, East-West Road and near the Music Building.

Designed to promote campus pride and to enhance common areas for the campus community and visitors alike, the new banners were part of a year-long marketing and beautification project. Participants were randomly selected and asked what they like best about UH Mānoa or why they chose to attend UH Mānoa.

“It’s a refreshing sight to see these new banners proudly displayed and more rewarding to read what our students, staff and alumni have to say about what makes UH Mānoa special to them,” said Chancellor Robert Bley-Vroman. “These messages are truly something that we on campus as well as our extended ’ohana can all be proud of.”

In order to keep costs down, the project was a collaboration with UH Foundation Alumni and Donor Relations, College of Education’s Curriculum Research and Development Group and the Honolulu Community College print shop.
