Jason Leigh, professor of information and computer sciences at UH Mānoa, presented the Cyber-CANOE 3D virtual reality environment.

Potential investors got to see some of the exciting developments at the University of Hawaiʻi at a technology showcase in October. The presentations included:

  • “Cyber-CANOE 3D virtual reality environment” by Jason Leigh, UH Mānoa professor of information and computer sciences
  • “Anatomical 3D models on the zSpace virtual reality platform” by Jesse Thompson, technical director for anatomical imaging at the John A. Burns School of Medicine
  • “Telescope mirror technology for the solar industry” by Institute for Astronomy Professor and MorphOptic co-founder Jeff Kuhn
  • “Realistic brain phantom for MRI research and development” by UH Mānoa electrical engineering graduate students Kyoko Fujimoto and Trent Robertson

The event was sponsored by UH’s Office of Technology Transfer and Economic Development, UH Mānoa’s College of Engineering and XLR8UH.

Guests included entrepreneurs, potential investors, intellectual property attorneys, defense contractors and other parties interested in licensing UH innovations.
