Graduates of Kapiʻolani CC Nurse Aide program.

Sixteen students were recognized for their achievements in successfully completing the Long Term Care Nurse Aide Program at Kapiʻolani Community College on Friday, December 11. Of the sixteen students who graduated two were females on active military status, one has been accepted into the nursing advanced degree program and two are applying to the practical nursing program.

Patricia O’Hagan, dean of emergency medical services, health sciences and nursing, commented that this is a very unique and special class. She has no doubt that once passing their certification exams, every one of the graduates will be hired. The demand for their training and services make them highly desired professionals.

“I am impressed with the standards that Kapiʻolani Community College has built into its CNA program,” said Carl Hinson, director of workforce development at Hawaiʻi Pacific Health. “It leaves me no room to doubt the quality and level of performance of each graduate. They entered the program with an interest and they completed the program with a desire and commitment to deliver extraordinary patient care. If I could, I would hire every graduate at the end of every program.”
