The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Outreach College was selected by the U.S. Department of State and its cooperative partner, World Learning, to host an EducationUSA Academy in summer 2016. Ten U.S. higher education institutions were selected as 2016 hosts.
The EducationUSA Academy is a three-to-four-week academic program that will provide intensive English language courses, college preparatory content, tours of diverse college and university campuses and cross-cultural activities to self-funded 15- to 17-year old students from around the world. Among the primary objectives of the academy is to provide opportunities for international students to improve their English skills and become more familiar with the U.S. higher education system, academic culture, campus life and admissions process.
UH Mānoa’s Outreach College offers excellent English language and other types of programs for international students through its international programs division. By hosting international high school students through the EducationUSA Academy, the program looks to provide an unforgettable learning and cultural experience unlike anywhere else in the country, while exposing students from around the world to the possibility of future study in Hawaiʻi.
