Badua was recognized as the 2011 Paralegal of the Year by the Hawaiʻi Paralegal Association, and in 2014 was awarded the Career Achievement Award for his outstanding and meritorious service to the legal community and paralegal profession. Susan Jaworowski, paralegal program director, said “Badua was a dedicated student who took advantage of every educational opportunity. He had an evident drive to succeed and has been deeply engaged in the Honolulu paralegal community.”

Currently, Badua is a paralegal with the Department of the Corporation Counsel, City and County of Honolulu and contributes his paralegal experience as the city’s transit paralegal working on the Honolulu Rail Transit Project, the largest public works and first grade-separated fixed rail system in Hawaiʻi.
