Culinary Institute Of The Pacific Opens Its Doors

The new Culinary Institute of the Pacific hosted its first event on March 2, celebrating the opening of Phase I. The event was held to thank donors, special partners and elected officials for their support and give them a tour of the new facility.

Located on the slopes of Diamond Head, the Institute of the Pacific offers the only four-year, baccalaureate culinary degree in Hawaiʻi. The first phase of the Kapiʻolani Community College project includes four single-story buildings, outdoor cooking area, landscaping, the first of two parking lots and the off-site utility infrastructure (electrical, water, sewer, gas).

  1. What is the meaning of the words carved into the path of the driveway into the Culinary Institute?

    NU–COCOS NUCIFERA

Is it the Latin name of the large leaf also carved into the pathway?

The leaf and the engraved words are repeated at the lower left and upper right corners of the path just before the gate.

  2. Aloha,
I am a Hawaii resident and originally from Brazil and would like to know more about how to enroll in your culinary art school program. Please advise. Thanks
