The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa campus community and public will take part in the 12th annual Colleges Against Cancer’s Relay for Life on Saturday, April 8 from 5 p.m. to Sunday, April 9 at 1 a.m. at Clarence T.C. Ching Field.
Opening activities will include welcome remarks by Interim Chancellor David Lassner, a flag ceremony with representatives of UH ROTC and the singing of the national anthem by a UH Mānoa student.
The Relay for Life movement is the largest event to help save lives from cancer. Members of each team fundraise in the months leading up the overnight activity, then take turns walking or running around the track from 5 in the evening until 1 in the morning.
Registration is still being accepted at the UH relay website. This year’s theme is tie-dye, so participants are invited to come in their best tie-dye fashion.
