Dave Shoji with celebration information

Join Dave Shoji, the second-winningest coach in NCAA volleyball history, and other Hawaiʻi stars for the Dave Shoji Aloha Ball Retirement Celebration on May 21.

Former ESPN SportsCenter host Larry Beil will emcee the program, which includes a performance by Henry Kapono, other live musical entertainment, local personalities, appearances by Kawika and Erik Shoji and special guests and video tributes.

Shoji is synonymous with volleyball in Hawaiʻi—he built the team from obscurity to national recognition as a perennial powerhouse. A fan favorite for generations, he led the University of Hawaiʻi Wahine to four national championships and 25 conference titles.

The celebration continues his work, with proceeds going to the Rainbow Wahine Volleyball program and the newly established Dave and Mary Shoji Scholarship Endowment Fund.
