Frank Leake

Chef and Professor Frank Leake, of the Kapiʻolani Community College’s Culinary Arts Program, has been appointed to serve as the American Academy of Chefs western regional director for 2015–2017. In addition, Leake has been reappointed for a third term as chair of the American Academy of Chefs nominations and elections committee and special events.

The American Academy of Chefs is the honor society of the American Culinary Federation. Strict policies and guidelines follow an objective process in selecting members to become certified fellows of the federation.

Fellowship is restricted to members of the American Culinary Federation who are certified master chefs, certified master pastry chefs, certified executive chefs, certified executive pastry chefs and certified culinary educators possessing honorable character.

Culinary Arts Program Department Chair Ron Takahashi said, “Chef Leake continues to bring honor to culinary arts, not just to Kapiʻolani Community College, but to the university and to the state of Hawaiʻi.”
