Happy graduates at UH West Oʻahu commencement

The holidays bring an added cause for celebration for graduates who will be participating in fall commencement exercises at the University of HawaiʻiUH West Oʻahu, UH Hilo and UH Mānoa.

UH West Oʻahu

UH West Oʻahu celebrates more than 261 graduates, the university’s largest ever graduating class. Former UH president and UH Mānoa chancellor Albert Simone will give the keynote address.

“I look forward to commencement every semester,” said UH West Oʻahu Chancellor Rockne Freitas. “The students and their families have so much to celebrate and their dedication makes me truly proud to represent this great university.”

UH Hilo

UH Hilo will confer a total of 290 degrees and/or certificates at the fall 2015 commencement ceremony. Sherry Menor-McNamara, the youngest and first female president and chief executive officer of the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaiʻi, will deliver the keynote address.

Zachary Tman, an anthropology and cell and molecular biology major, who is also pursuing a minor in chemistry, will represent the graduating class as student speaker.

UH Mānoa

Approximately 1,100 UH Mānoa students are eligible to receive degrees and certificates to conclude the fall academic term. Keynote speaker and honorary degree recipient is Robert K. Masuda, retired YMCA executive and public servant.

Pualani Armstrong, an elementary and special education and political science major, will represent the graduating class as student speaker.
