UH Army ROTC seniors receive national military honors

HONOLULU — Eight of twenty graduating seniors in the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program have been selected as Distinguished Military Graduates (DMG‘s) by the U.S. Army Cadet Command. The honor is given to the top 20 percent of graduates in the nation and recognizes their accomplishments in military training, leadership and academics.

"We are proud of our graduating seniors and their ability to prove that they are among the best ROTC graduates in the nation," said Capt. William A. Crawford, assistant professor and U.S. Army recruiting operations officer. "We hope this achievement will lead them to a career full of opportunities."

This year‘s University of Hawaiʻi Army ROTC DMG‘s are:

· John Ardiente

· Frank Calvo

· Christopher Ikeda

· Brian Mirr

· Daniel Mow

· David Pott

· Leopele Raabe

· Sang Yim

In addition to the achievement, Distinguished Military Graduates are also granted their first proponent of choice and their first branch of choice following graduation.
