New public information officer at UHM Chancellor’s Office

University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Chancellor Virginia S. Hinshaw has announced the hiring of Dyan R. Kleckner as public information officer.

Kleckner previously served as public relations and volunteer services coordinator at Shriners Hospitals for Children in Honolulu. Before that, the Makiki resident oversaw the public relations and development function at The Arc in Hawaii, and was an assistant account executive at Stryker Weiner & Yokota Public Relations Inc.

A graduate of Waiakea High School on the Big Island, Kleckner earned a bachelor of arts degree in communication and a certificate in gerontology from Santa Clara University. She is a member of the Aloha United Way Society of Young Leaders and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

"We‘re delighted to have a person of Dyan‘s diverse background and skills assist us in keeping the community informed of UH Mānoa‘s exciting activities and programs," said Gregg Takayama, UHM Director of Community and Government Affairs.
