The University of Hawaiʻi system is the focus of a brand new weekly program dedicated to showcasing the people, places, issues, and events that make UH a leading institution of higher education. The half-hour show, "UH This Week," will air every Saturday on KFVE at 5:30 p.m. UH President Evan Dobelle will kick off the first show airing September 7.

The program will feature one-on-one interviews with university newsmakers, as well as UH sports highlights, a special segment called "Campus Chatter" highlighting student issues, a weekly interactive web poll, and a calendar of future UH events. Upcoming guests include UH Mānoa Chancellor Peter Englert and UH Athletics Director Herman Frazier.

"We see this show as an excellent opportunity to strengthen the ties between the University and the communities we serve. There is so much innovation and enthusiasm on the campuses of UH and we want to share that with the public," said Paul Costello, UH Vice President for External Affairs & University Relations. "UH This Week is an excellent vehicle for showcasing the expertise, resources, and vitality of this University."

"UH This Week" will be hosted by Drake Beil, a UH alumnus and host of "60secondsonbusiness" on KHNL‘s 10 p.m. news. Beil, who also writes a weekly business column every Monday in the Honolulu Advertiser, received his master‘s and doctoral degrees from the University of Hawaiʻi.
