The 19th Annual Pacific Rim Conference on Disabilities, "Collaboration and Change: A Future of Choices for Mind, Body, and Spirit," will be held February 10-11, 2003, in Honolulu.

PACIFIC RIM CONFERENCE ARTS STRAND: CALL TO PRESENTERS:"A Rainbow of Creativity: Arts, Culture and Disability Access"The 2003 Arts Strand is co-presented by VSA arts of Hawaii-Pacific and the University of Hawaiʻi Center on Disability Studies, "promoting the creative power in people with disabilities." There are four specific opportunities available for presenters, art lovers and artists with disabilities and others to participate and contribute at the Pac Rim.

This year proposals addressing the involvement in arts and culture and disability access to the arts and culture are encouraged. The focus of the strand includes but is not limited to disabilities, and accessibility to Pacific Islander arts and culture; career exploration and professional development for veteran and emerging artists with disabilities; women artists with disabilities; and international disability culture, policy and practices.

Deadline for submission is October 1, 2002.

Notification of acceptance: Contact person will be notified of acceptance status by November 1, 2002.

(February 8-9, 2003)* "Arts For All, All For Arts" A Fully Accessible Performing Model Arthouse (February 9, 2003)* "Arts For All, All For Arts" exhibition, artist reception, and two-day art sale within and during the Pacific Rim conference (February 10-11, 2003).
