Law School to hold public forum on civil unions

"Chasing Rainbows," a new feature documentary film produced in Hawai'i, will have its world premiere at the Hawai'i International Film Festival on October 16 at 7:30 p.m. and October 21 at 3:30 p.m. in Honolulu. The 85-minute film explores the battle over Civil Unions in Hawaiʻi, Same Sex Marriage in California, and other aspects of the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) lifestyle including family, faith, and societal issues.

 

Chasing Rainbows is not a typical feature documentary. It’s educational, humorous, edgy, even raw at times and incredibly informative. The documentary features, prominent psychologists and clergy, other experts, families, students, and people on the street from both sides of the issues. The film includes sound bites from President Barack Obama and a host of other people in Hawaiʻi, California, and Washington, DC.

 

The film is the centerpiece at an upcoming public forum on civil unions on October 29 at 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the UH Mānoa School of Architecture auditorium.   The forum will be moderated by Dan Boylan and hosted by UH Mānoa’s William S. Richardson School of Law, the Psychology Honor Society and the Hawaiʻi International Film Festival.

 

Parking is $5 at the School of Architecture lot or the Zone 20 parking structure.
