“The air in the Honolulu CC fashion department is sizzling with excitement and creativity. The show promises to be an eclectic look at how future designers plan to dress the world. There are designs for all ages and body types,” shares Joy Nagaue, chair of the fashion technology program.

"Transitopia" is described as a modern day fashion euphoria featuring diverse visions of creativity that will literally come to life at the seams…a world only entered through our dreams whether day or night, dark or light…mysterious and bizarre, there is beauty in it  all. The class of 2011 will transform the parking lot of the automotive facility to a place called Transitopia to seat 500 guests.

The graduating seniors will open the show with "mini shows" showcasing their individual collections. Each mini show will have its own set and theme. Guests will also enjoy a wide array of designs presented by the freshman class.

Many special guests are expected to be present that will create a truly one-of-a-kind fashion experience. Cost of tickets are $25 that includes refreshments provided by Ka Restaurant and Lounge.

For tickets and information, please call the Honolulu Community College Fashion Department at (808) 845-9203. A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to the Japanese Relief Fund by the students.
