The Performing Arts Department at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo presents its end-of-semester Great Leaps Dance Concert on Wednesday and Thursday, May 4 and 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. Over 150 dancers highlight this annual performance.

UH Hilo dance classes in ballet, modern and the dance ensemble will perform original choreography by instructors Celeste Staton, Annie Bunker and guest choreographer Dori Yamada.

The Hawaiʻi Community College class in modern/jazz dance to music with a traditional Irish flavor. Aerial Dance I and II perform works utilizing the floor and single-point trapezes.

Two senior projects will premiere as Sara Hayashi and Caley Kilcorse, both performing arts majors with a dance emphasis, culminate their dance experiences at UH Hilo with their individually-created original works.

Other performances include a chant and hula to Pele, traditional Korean dances, and tap.
