UH Mānoa’s Lyon Arboretum will hold its annual holiday plant and craft sale on Saturday, November 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Admission is free.

Featured plant for sale this year is the pink and white torch ginger, Etlingera venusta 'Maylay Rose,’ also known as Porcelaine Ginger.  It may be used as a colorful accent in the garden as well as a source of eye-catching cut flowers.

Also on hand for sale will be colorful ti varieties from the Arboretum’s collection, assorted orchids, heliconias, tillandsias and other bromeliads, Native Hawaiian plants and ferns, anthuriums, and many other plants for homes and gardens.

Arboretum volunteers from Hui Hana Hawai‘i will sell handmade decorative wreaths.  There will also be tasty jams and jellies—perfect for stocking stuffers and holiday gifts.

A free shuttle service to the Arboretum has pick-up and drop-off points at the intersections of Po’elua Street and Mānoa Road, and Nipo Street and Mānoa Road.

Lyon Arboretum, located at 3860 Mānoa Road, is open Mondays to Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  It is closed on Sundays and federal and state holidays.
