The annual Hawaiʻi College Fair will be held on Thursday, April 24, from 8:30 a.m. to noon and from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center. The fair will have free workshops and briefings on essay writing, test-taking tips, college athletics and preparing for college. The fair is open to private school students, their parents and the public.

The University of Hawaiʻi will be represented with booths featuring UH Mānoa, UH Hilo and the community colleges. Workshops will be conducted on essay writing, test-taking tips and college athletics at 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and repeated at 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A workshop on preparing for college is scheduled for that evening from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Approximately 100 local and mainland colleges (including one from England) are slated to attend and representatives will be available to answer questions on their respective campuses and programs. The event is sponsored by the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) in conjunction with the Hawaiʻi Association for College Admission Counseling. For a list of participating schools, log onto the NACAC's National College Fair Web site at www.nacac.com
