Said Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Reed Dasenbrock, “Nearly one third of the students at UH Mānoa are graduate students, so it is crucial to the welfare of the campus that the Office of Graduation Education be led by a strong capable dean. We have found such a dean in Krystyna Aune, who has capably served the whole campus as Interim Associate Vice Chancellor since 2009.  I look forward to continuing to work with her in her new capacity.”

Added Chancellor Tom Apple, “We were blessed and grateful to have received very strong candidates for this tremendously important position, and were fortunate to have chosen a candidate who is not only familiar with the university and Hawai‘i’s culture, but possesses the experience at all levels from faculty to higher administration within UH Mānoa. Dr. Aune’s exemplary background and experience in academic leadership, and in promoting and sustaining programs within higher education, make her the best match to take Graduate Education to the next level."
