Governor to Proclaim April 23 as UH Community Colleges Day

University of HawaiʻiThe University of Hawai'i Community College System celebrates 50 years of higher education with a proclamation from Hawai'i State Governor Neil Abercrombie on April 23, 2014. On this exact day in 1964, Governor John A. Burns signed into law a major piece of legislation that would forever change the educational landscape of the entire state of Hawai'i—affordable higher education. Serving more than 33,000 students statewide, the UH Community College System is seven campuses strong providing Hawai'i's citizens with the best opportunities and resources available in higher education today.
