Kay Fujimoto Ono, President of the Hawai‘i Business Education Association (HBEA), was nominated President-elect for the Western Business Education Association (WBEA) at its Executive Board Meeting at the February 14, 2014, WBEA Conference in Portland, Oregon.  Mrs. Ono will be President when the WBEA Conference is hosted by HBEA at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa in February 2016.  Mrs. Ono is a Professor of Business Technology at Leeward Community College. WBEA is the regional affiliate of the National Business Education Association.

At the February 2014 WBEA Conference, WBEA President, Christy Ekroth, presented Cheryl Fujii, HBEA Newsletter Editor, an award for excellence in publications, recognizing her excellent work on the hbea.org quarterly publication.  The award encourages communication and networking among the HBEA membership.  This is the second year that Mrs. Fujii received this award.  Mrs. Fujii is an Instructor of Business Technology at Kaua‘i Community College.

Hawai'i Business Education Association is a non-profit, professional organization for teachers of business and information technology as well as those businesses and organizations interested in the quality and training of Hawai'i's workforce.  The purpose of HBEA is to promote Business Education in the State of Hawai`i and to provide opportunity for business educators, students, or friends of business education to interact. The ultimate goal of HBEA and its affiliates is to prepare students to use information technology and business skills in our global society.  HBEA strives to prepare individuals with the knowledge and skills to succeed in careers in business and industry.
