Hawai‘i CC offers ‘must attend’ business training for up-and-coming farmers

Hawai‘i Community College is pleased to announce it will offer the popular "Business Plan Development Training for Farmers" course starting this month in Hilo and Pahoa.

This 84-hour course provides a comprehensive program discussing agriculture business plan development and how to succeed as a farmer on Hawai‘i Island. The course encompasses 21 hands-on lectures and useful business planning materials — all for a low administrative fee of $99.

Each student who meets the course requirements will be awarded a Certificate of Professional Development.

The Hilo classes will be held at Hawai‘i Community College from July 22 - Sept. 30 every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. 

The Pahoa classes will be held at Kua O Ka La, Public Charter School from July 16 - Sept. 29 every Monday and Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

C3T Hawai‛i is a $24.6 million dollar grant awarded to the University of Hawai‛i Community Colleges through the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration. The grant will fuel the development of education and training curriculum and student academic/career coaching, which target certificate and degree programs specific to the needs of agriculture, energy and health industries. The industry-focused, employer-driven programs are designed to increase college completion rates and provide job opportunities to the C3T participants.
