UH Manoa Presents Asia-Pacific Performance Night

Concert features music and dance performances from the Philippines, India, Indonesia, Korea, Okinawa and Hawaiʻi

The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa‘s Music Department will host the Asia-Pacific Performance Night (APPN) on Tuesday, March 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the Orvis Auditorium on the UH Mānoa campus.

APPN is a free concert featuring music and dance from Asia and the Pacific. The concert will feature a variety of multi-ethnic performances by students, faculty, and community members. Performances include Southern Philippine dance and music by Wayne Mendoza and Dr. Ric Trimillos, Korean music and dance by Dr. Byongwong Lee and Eun-Sook Kim, Kumu Hula Michael Pili Pang‘s Halau Hula Ka Noʻeau, Bharata Natyam Indian Dance by Izumi Sato, Okinawan dance and music by Ukwanshin Kabudan Ryukyu Performing Arts Group, and Indonesian dance and music by Chandra Susilo, Ben Arcangel, and Mohammad Amin.

Organized by the UH Mānoa Center for Southeast Asian Studies and the School of Hawaiian, Asian and Pacific Studies (SHAPS) 2004 Graduate Student Conference, APPN is the opening event of the three-day SHAPS Graduate Student Conference to be held from March 16 -18 at the Center for Korean Studies on the Mānoa campus.
