In Hawaiian mythology, leina (the ‘leaping place’) were believed to be portals to another world. After the cousins cross over a supernatural threshold, they encounter ghosts from different backgrounds and time periods over the past 100 years of Hawai‘i’s history gather nearby reliving moments of pain and joy in their life.
