The Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa has earned reaffirmation of its accreditation by AACSB International — The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

“This accreditation is an important indicator of our commitment to improve all areas of our college — student learning, faculty research and teaching, community involvement and alumni relations,” says Vance Roley, dean of the college. “Our staff, faculty and alumni are committed to developing a more vibrant, challenging and high quality learning environment for our students.”

“It takes a great deal of commitment and determination to earn and maintain AACSB Accreditation,” said Robert D. Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International. “Business schools must not only meet specific standards of excellence, but their deans, faculty, and professional staff must make a commitment to ongoing continuous improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver the highest quality of education to students.”

Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.

AACSB Accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education, and has been earned by less than five percent of the world's business programs. Today, there are only 746 business schools in 51 countries and territories that maintain AACSB Accreditation.

Founded in 1949, the college was named in 2006 after alumnus Jay H. Shidler, founder and managing partner of The Shidler Group. In 2014, Shidler increased his initial gift of $25 million to $100 million, making it the largest donation at the University of Hawaii from a private donor. The Shidler College of Business is renowned for its multicultural learning environment and its expertise in international business education, and is consistently ranked among the nation's top 25 graduate schools for international business by U.S. News & World Report. Long recognized for its Asia-Pacific focus, the college offers a wide variety of degree, certificate and executive programs. The UH Shidler College of Business is the only graduate program in the state of Hawai‘i accredited by AACSB International. For more information, visit www.shidler.hawaii.edu.
