The Shidler College of Business has welcomed 84 freshmen to the UH Mānoa campus as part of its Direct Admit Program (DAP). This talented cohort is one of the most diverse groups of students, with 36% coming from U.S. mainland high schools and 67% from Hawai‘i high schools, of which 9% are from the neighbor islands and a third from local private high schools.
The DAP program continues to draw an impressive group of highly qualified students. This year’s cohort received an average high school GPA of 3.79 and average SAT scores of 1800. In addition, 64% of these students have earned college credits and are on-track to graduate in four years.
The DAP program is designed for high-achieving incoming freshmen who want to gain a head start on business courses. DAP students take similar courses together, and are allowed access to exclusive business courses, student clubs, academic advising, mentoring, scholarships and college events including lectures, business competitions and mixers with business professionals.
