KAPOLEI --- Bring an instrument, learn a mele, and kanikapila with premier Hawaiian music artists at UH West Oʻahu Hoʻokani Kulanui events this fall. Hoʻokani Kulanui – a free event – is hosted by Nā Hokū Hanohano Award Winner and UH West Oʻahu Hawaiian Ensemble Instructor Kamuela Kimokeo. All students, faculty, staff, and the general public are invited to bring an instrument and join in during these epic jam sessions with Hawaiʻi’s most talented musicians.

Hoʻokani Kulanui is sponsored by the UH West Oʻahu PIKO Project which is funded by a U.S. Department of Education Title III grant, and the UH West Oʻahu Humanities Division and music program. Chamber Music Hawaii's Honolulu Brass Quintet

There is nothing like the sound of a brass ensemble at Christmas time. With a popular program of seasonal music, the Honolulu Brass Quintet brings Christmas cheer to West Oʻahu.

The UH West Oʻahu University Band, University Chorus, and Hawaiian Ensemble are also performing at the UH West O'ahu Winter Concert on Sunday, Nov. 27, at 4 p.m. at the Pearl City Cultural Center (2100 Hookiekie St; Pearl City, HI 96782). Admission is free.

Hear new original work by students from Magnussen’s MUS 208 course at the UH West Oʻahu Songwriting Hōʻike on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. in UH West Oʻahu, Room C225. Admission is free.
