UH Mānoa’s Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs has initiated the formal search process for the regular appointment of the Dean of the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources and Director for Research and Cooperative Extension (CTAHR).

“The College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources, the founding College of the University of Hawai‘i, remains an indispensable resource to the citizens of Hawai‘i,” said Interim Vice Chancellor Michael Bruno.  “As a center of learning, research and service to the agriculture community, CTAHR helps ensure that our state's natural resources are used wisely and sustainably.  The new Dean will be expected to build on this long tradition and lead the faculty and staff in expanding and enhancing the critically important work of the College.”

Donald Young, Dean of the College of Education, will chair the CTAHR Search Advisory Committee. The group will recommend finalists to Interim Vice Chancellor Bruno, who in turn will recommend a selectee to UH Mānoa Interim Chancellor David Lassner.

The committee includes chairs, faculty, staff and students from their respective units, as well as representatives from the Kuali‘i Council and UH alumni/community.
