'Caravan' to bring 21 mainland law school reps to Hawaiʻi from Nov. 28 to Dec. 2

Representatives from 21 mainland law schools will take part in a series of law fairs being held at Hawai‘i colleges from November 28 to December 2, 2016, to discuss law school options in Hawai‘i and western states.  

As part of the "Law Fair Hawai‘i Caravan," admissions directors from West Coast law schools will answer questions from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, in the UH Law Library, Classroom 118, 2525 Dole Street.

The session will be moderated by William S. Richardson School of Law Director of Admissions Elisabeth Steele Hutchison.  Speakers will include:

  • Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management and Administrative coordinator for LLM in American Legal Studies Michelle Allison-Slaughter from Thomas Jefferson School of Law.
  • Senior Director of Admissions and Financial Aid Alan Guerrero from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
  • Associate Dean of Enrollment Management and Administration Tom McColl from Whittier Law School.
  • Associate Director of Admissions and Diversity Initiatives Allison Takeda from the Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law.

“If you’re interested in law school and want to learn more about how to apply and what law schools offer, this is an excellent opportunity to ask questions of the experts,” said Hutchison, who will take part in a number of the law fairs.

  • Monday, November 28: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Brigham Young University-Hawai‘i Law Fair, Aloha Center Room 155/165.

  • Wednesday, November 30: 9 to 11 a.m. Leeward Community College Law Fair, Outdoor Library Concourse.

  • Thursday, December 1: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hawai‘i Pacific University Law Fair, HPU Aloha Tower Marketplace Center, Atrium.
  • Friday, December 2: 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., University of Hawai‘i-Hilo, Mo‘okini Library Lanai.
