Dr. Ronald E. Cambra, UH Mānoa assistant vice chancellor for undergraduate edducation, has won the Michael C. Holen Pacesetter Award from NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising as part of the 2017 Global Awards Program for Academic Advising.

The award recognizes executive officers, provosts, and academic or student affairs officers who exemplify a commitment to academic advising, and who are advocates for advising, students and advisors across the institution.

Said Cambra, "The Holen Award belongs to everyone dedicated to making UH Mānoa the magnificent institution it is becoming. I have had the privilege of working with some of the most dedicated, committed and unselfish colleagues as we work toward improving the Mānoa experience for all students. It takes dedication and team work to accomplish our goals.  Mahalo to all."

Since 1983, NACADA has honored individuals and institutions making significant contributions to the improvement of academic advising. The goal of NACADA is to promote quality academic advising and professional development of its membership to enhance the educational development of students.

Cambra will accept his award in St. Louis, Missouri, during the NACADA Annual Conference this fall.
