HONOLULU — Let your aviation career take off at Honolulu Community College. Attend the Honolulu Community College Aerospace Training Center Open House from 10 a.m . — 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11 at Kalaeloa Airfield in Barber‘s Point.

The open house is designed to help future pilots find out about the pilot training program offered at Honolulu Community College as well as help them determine if they have the "right stuff".

Faculty and flight trainers will be on hand to explain the training and coursework involved in the program and current students will share their experiences with interested applicants. University of North Dakota personnel will also be available to explain the unique direct transfer program that enables Honolulu CC students to transfer into the 4-year program. Future students will be able to see the entire facility, including the classrooms and the training planes.

A special career presentation about the aviation industry will be held at 1 p.m. The Academic Chair of the Aviation Department and the Assistant Dean of Student Services for the Aerospace College from the University of North Dakota will explain the unique transfer program and 4-year degree options available only to Honolulu CC graduates.

An added attraction is free plane rides for selected youth between the ages of 7-17.

Directions to Kalaeloa Airfield: Take the Kalaeloa off-ramp from the freeway. Keep heading on that road. Proceed through the old guard shack and STAY on that road until you hit the airstrip. You will run right into it. The hangar will be visible to your right.
