telescope in domeA storied chapter in astronomy at the University of Hawai‘i comes to a close with the removal of Mauna Kea’s first research telescope. The 24-inch telescope was built in 1968 and became a fixture of Mauna Kea’s scientific community.The removal clears the way for a larger telescope that will provide students with observational astronomy training second-to-none.
