Athletic Director Finalists
Hilo’s search for an athletic director was narrowed down to three candidates.
The finalists and their interview dates
- Paul Batchelder, senior associate athletic director at the University of North Texas, Dec. 10
- R. Wayne Edwards, sports committee chair for the Camden Yards Sports and Entertainment Committee, Dec. 17
- Bob Wagner, athletic director for Kamehameha Schools-Hawai‘i Campus and former head football coach for Manoa, Jan. 22
A reception for the public to meet the finalists has been scheduled for 5–6 p.m. on each of the three interview dates.
“Members of the search committee have been hard at work developing screening criteria and reviewing applications since early October, shortly after the closing date for application submissions,” says Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Luoluo Hong, who also serves as search committee chair. “We have a group of really committed individuals on the search committee. They have devoted many hours and careful thought into this process."
