The university launches the 2010 Aloha United Way campaign kick-off for Oʻahu campuses. The campaign runs Aug. 30–Oct. 8. Donations help critical community service organizations assist more than 500,000 individuals in areas ranging from early childhood development and family financial stability to dealing with homelessness and drug abuse.

This is the university community’s opportunity to make an impact on the families who rely on the programs run by partner AUW organizations. In hopes of continuing UH’s tradition of substantial support for Aloha United Way, organizers have set the 2010 goal at $375,900.

Please consider making a donation through departmental pledge card or via events organized by department coordinators. Each dollar is an investment in a better community for all of Hawaiʻi’s families. For more information on AUW fundraising activities, please contact your department coordinator.

In addition, the Fifth Annual University of Hawaiʻi–Aloha United Way Softball Tournament is scheduled for Fri., Oct. 8, 5 p.m. at Mānoa’s Les Murakami Stadium. While details are being formulated, form a campus team and begin preparations for this fun-filled event in support of AUW.
