eWaste Recycling Quarterly Program Reminder
The first pickup period in 2011 for the Quarterly UH eWaste Recycling Program is fast approaching at the end of January. If you have UH-owned electronic equipment to recycle you should contact your campus coordinator as soon as possible; there is no charge for recycling, however the program is for UH equipment ONLY; no personal or public ewaste is accepted.
A list of campus coordinators and guidelines for participation in the ongoing Apple sponsored recycling effort can be found at the program’s webpage.
Student Equity Excellence and Diversity Request for Proposal
The Office of Student Equity Excellence and Diversity (SEED) is currently accepting proposals for Spring 2011 Diversity and Equity Initiative grants. All UH departments and programs from any of the 10 campuses are eligible to apply.
The Diversity and Equity Initiative grants support University of Hawaiʻi diversity goals with projects that provide a more inclusive environment for students, faculty and administrators. Applicants can support these efforts with proposals that address gender, sexual orientation, disability and groups underrepresented in higher education.
This initiative has supported speakers, authors, research, performance and media projects that address diversity in many aspects of higher education, art, media and athletics.
Proposals which serve more than one campus are strongly encouraged. Deadline is Fri., Feb. 4., with notification of awards by Feb. 25, 2011.
